Description:
Coaxial Tri-rotor VTOL UAV for reconnaissance in the Urban Environment.
Well our idea is unique and is patented. It has a MicroPilot control system which gives the UAV autonomous flight which can be set using GPS waypoints. On-board it has a GPS unit, 3 axis gyro, accelerometer and air pressure sensors. It has an endurance of 25 minutes and it also has 3 video transmitter. We have two video cameras and 1 Thermal imager which can be changed for a digital stills camera.
Configuration:
It has three arms set at 120 degrees from each other and at the end of each arm is a coaxial unit which includes two GWS 1060 props and 2217/20 AXI motors that turn in opposite directions for balance. Each arm has the potential to lift up to 2kg meaning that we can lift upto 6kg in total. It has a very complex control system which allows us to move in any 30 degree direction, making us more stable and agile compared to a quadrotor which can move in any 45 degree direction.
