Description:
Because we are not allowed on our flight field to fly with spark-ignition
engines on Sunday afternoon, I designed the Aurochs to be a aerotow plane.
It can handle with glider up to 4-5 Kg easily. The APC prop run at 6400 rpm,
and the current compsumption nearly reach 60 A, but with this power the
aerotow duration does not exceed 40 sec with 3 Kg glider (Most of glider I
have to tow does not weight more than 3 Kg). The full-throttle run time is
about 220 sec, allowing 4 to 6 aerotow depending of weight and size of the
glider. Very easy to fly due to the great surface of wing and low weight, it
has also good aerobatics possibilities. We tried once with a 7 kg Fox, it
took 80 sec to reach more than 250 meter in good security conditions. The
Aurochs is perfect to bring up to sky medium size gliders in silence and
serinity. The AXI motor is perfect for this use, with strong and reliable
design, and smooth operation.
