Description:
The Beluga is a model of the large special Airbus Transporter A300-600ST Beluga, which supplies the final assembly lines in Hamburg and Toulouse with fuselage- and wingsections for new Airbus aircrafts.
The fuselage of the model is divided in three sections, into which it can be dismounted for maintenance and transportation reasons. The cockpit and tail section consist of selfproduced glassfibre form parts in shell construction, while the central fuselage is made of wood and in frame building method.
The wing is one in the model construction often used classical rib building method from Balsaholz, which is covered with balsawood panels and a skin of heatadhesive foil. It is one-piece and completely screwed under the fuselage. Also the empennage is a rib building structure, made from Balsaholz, which is also covered with balsawood panels and a heatadhesive foil. The empennage is completely dismoutable for transportation purposes.
The flight control system is quite uncomplicated and been made by elevators, rudder and ailerons. Additionally a nose wheel steering system is installed for roll operation on the ground and a retractable pneumatic Landing Gear. As propulsion two AXI 2820-12 are used with APC 10x6 propellers, which are supplied of one easy-weighty lithium polymers accu 4s 5300mAh and JETI Advance 40 opto plus controllers. It is planned for the future to equip the Beluga with electrical Impellern in order to give it a still more realistic flight illustration. For longer flights the Beluga can also be equipped with two 4s 4300mAh Lithium polymere Akkus. The flight time in this configuration is about 12 minutes and with one akku is near 6 minutes (normal airliner flight profile).
