Description:
The model is build like a scale modell of US military airplane, which was used as a school airplane in 60ties, until the start of „jet“ era. The modell is built from Top Flite kit and the model construction took 11 months. Mentor is a wooden construction, only engine cowl is plastic. The model is with paper covered, which is then painted many times with nitro varnish. After that the model was spray colored . The rivets and imitation of gaps of metallic surface are engraved with small rasper before color painting .
The model has pneumatic steerable retract from Robart. Landiny lights, positions light and anticolission lights are working too. For lights there is in the modell separate accu 3s Li-Ion 1,1 Ah. Modell has all in all 8 servos + speed controller JETI Master 90 + electronic switch for lights. Servos: 1x each aileron, 1x each flap, 1x rudder, 1x elevator, 1x front wheel steering and 1x microservo for valve of retracts. For electric wiring in the model I used 30 meters of small cables and 7,5 meters of high presure tubes for pneumatic retract. The cocpit could be opened and this way power accus are changed. A pilot figure, which sitting over it, so has clearly overview about accu temperature:-) Current of motor at start is 60 A.
What for me was surprizing is that for good power for this 8 kg weight machine is sufficiend AXI 5320/28 even when the recommendation from AXI of weight of fully aerobatic model is 5,5 kg with this power setup. With my setup my 8kg modell flies very realistic, lively, fast and it has more power for aerobatics like loops, turns atc. Air brakes works very well and are effectively used for nice slow landings.
